It's part of an overarching trend over the past 8 years or so where
4chan users adopt regional and urban British slang and IM/textspeak,
mainly thanks to the various British generals on /int/, /pol/, and
/r9k/ that grew in size around 2013-2015

Examples:
lad, la', u wot m8, fam, simple as, cunny, goin' down t' 'yuri t' mek
t' post on t' 'net

Most of it is 20th century or older in terms of its usage in Britain
(some of it is even archaic), but a lot of its present-day usage on imageboards falls under Rule 8 because it's part of the shitty 2010s
4chan /int/pol/r9k/ culture we're trying to get away from (;´Д`)
