How have things in your life changed since you began posting on Heyuri? (・∀・)

 - I am now able to read untranslated eroge ヽ(´∇`)ノ
││- School is now 10x harder and I'm failing hard (´Д`)
 ││- I learned few 1337 skillz (´ー`)
 ││- I earned some more fetishes (゚ー゚)
 ││
 ││Why are you learning mongolian?

│││I've always had a fascination with the culture, one of the most beautiful images i can think of
│││is the Golden Horde charging through the steppes. I also find their folk religion, Tengrism, to be quite interesting.
│││Id like to learn more about the religion from root sources and see in what ways they compare to Christianity.
│││I can see myself living a few years out Ulaanbaatar sometime in my future, if not that then hopefully visit extensively.
 │││
││└Interestan. I speak turkish so I can somewhat understand some Kipchak
││ languages (especially qirimtatar) since it's not that far from Oghuz
 ││ branch
 ││
││ It's disputable to call Tengrism a "religion" (the word "belief" would
││ probably fit better) or Tengri as a "God". Tengri is the sky/the
││ universe, making Tengrism actually an ancient version of Pantheism. I'm
││ leaving some other Gods out, since they're closer to mythological beings
││ and mostly seen in Turkic mythology(?).
 ││
││ Tengrism, being a folk belief, didn't have any book or official
││ documents (though, I think Irk Bitig is the oldest book on the topic...
││ but it's also more about turkic mythology than Tengrism) like Abrahamic
││ religions, nor much English resources. I think the most academic
││ research on the topic has been done in Turkish. If you're interested,
││ here is a book that seems to be suggested in Tengrist circles:
 ││ https://annas-archive.org/search?q=T%C3%BCrk+Kozmolojisine+Giri%C5%9F
││ You can read it by copypasting the text to a translator. Skip the
││ history part. Note that much of the documents from the era is biased
││ Chinese archives. Also this is mostly Turkic perspective, but Mongolian
││ Tengrism wasn't much different besides some names.
 ││
││ As for Ulaanbaatar, I don't think it's much different than any big city
 ││ (;^Д^)
││ If you're a traveler, you'd probably be more interested in visiting the
││ rural villages of Mongolia or central asian Turkic states.
 ││
││ Lastly, plz click on that "Make line breaks" buttan b4 posting
