That is exactly what I am looking for actually (´ー`)
It's more invasive I suppose, but I don't really care about that. The
issue is that I use my earphones 99.9% of the time, and so it makes the
"music sync" feature of these strips pointless if I can't just simply 
plug them to my phone or lapotp and feed them an audio stream

Maybe u can find one with with an aux / external input ヽ(´ー｀)ノ
