If you're talking about the real OGs from 1996-1998 (the Shiba era) -
some of them went on to do greater things, a few of them have passed
away, but most of them have simply disappeared into the night

Some examples of former-Ayashii users who became known for things out-
side of Ayashii:

Mana/Tsubasa Shibahime's real name is Kenji Ando, and he is prominent
enough in the world to have their own wikipedia page. He has previously
worked for livedoor, DWANGO, and others, and is currently a news editor
for Huffington Post Japan:

Hideharu Ishikawa was the founder of UGTOP - a famous hacker group
whose members often used Ayashii World as a hangout. He started Japan's
first internet security company "Artemis", and has made many appearanc-
es in TV shows, in books, and has advised the government with his exper-
tise on hacking/security/cybercrime-related topics. Currently he is
Chief Information Security Officer at a company called Revolver

Asada Takuya (RIP) was the one who conceived the japan.* newsgroup heir-
archy on Ayashii World during the Digital Eden era (1996/08/21-
1996/12/23). He was a legendary and well-loved celebrity-like figure
on the Japanese net during the 90s. Among many things, he was known for
forming the well-known satirical organization "Nihon Isoternet Kyoukai"
, and played an important role in bringing FreeBSD to Japan. He went on
to write several books and become an assistant professor at the Univers-
ity of Tokyo before sadly passing away in February 2012

Tanai was the guy behind YunaSoft MP3 encoder, which helped popularize
the MP3 format on the web around the globe. He was also the founder of
the japan.fetish.lolita newsgroup, and went on to play a leading role
in the proliferation of loli images on japan.* (and not the 2D kind...)
