At that time, it was a Japanese-only phenomenon and it was very niche as there was no money to be made (because everyone outside of the niche thought it was teh lame), so everyone involved was basically just doing it for fun, to make new friends, or simply cuz the technology was k00l. It was beautiful... ...but then "agencies" started cropping up, and one particular agency of fail started making "meme" videos on Twitter and collaborating with a crappy Chinese mobile gacha game, and suddenly all the Twitchfags, Redditors, and nu-4chan morons of the world found out about it. They misinterpreted the whole thing as some shitty idolfaggotry popularity contest, and now the one group who was (rightfully) unpopular due to their lame idol gimmick has inspired a new generation of virtual fuck- tards to run the entire thing into the fucking ground and shit all over what was once a wonderful and creative hobbyist scene (;´Д`) These faggots sullied the very concept of virtual youtubers, and inspir- ed a whole legion of haters to think it's all just "Twitch whores" and "s*mping" - and the sad thing is that this would go on to be a self- fulfilling prophecy (;´Д`) So unless you're firmly in the "doing it for fun" or "because the tech- nology is cool" camps rather than the "maek moneez" and "banking off a trend" camps, I don't support your sudden interest in something you previously expressed vehement hatred for (;´Д`) Reference: 2022/02/22(Tue) 23:57:52

I did think that western vtubers sucked but these ones are mostly portuguese and russian and of course im primarily motivated by money, i havent done anything to make myself some money in a while. been paying out of pocket for all these projects.
