I found an archive of "Shibahime Tsubasa" AKA Mana's website circa
2001, which was mostly untouched since 1999. They were the creator of
Ayashii World REBIRTH, REMIX, REQUIEM, and REFLEX:
 https://web.archive.org/web/20011202000316/http://www.bea.hi-ho.ne.jp/strangeworld/

If you jump ahead to the later archive dates, you can actually browse
 the raw file index:
 https://web.archive.org/web/20030202120105/http://www.bea.hi-ho.ne.jp/strangeworld/

There's many Ayashii World-related links and materials to be found
here, as well as various versions of the home page that demonstrate how
the landscape of Ayashii World sites evolved over the course of 1999

You can also find Mana's script files used on their various Ayashii
World boards, some of which were "main" Ayashii World boards in their
 prime:
 https://web.archive.org/web/20030202091545/http://www.bea.hi-ho.ne.jp/strangeworld/recycle/

Like Shiba's scripts (unarchived as far as I'm currently aware,
although they were allegedly distributed at some point), they were all
modified versions of rescue's MiniBBS 7.5

The one for REQUIM (formerly known as RECYCLE) even comes with a readme:
 https://web.archive.org/web/19990823060329/http://www.bea.hi-ho.ne.jp/strangeworld/recycle/readme.html

For convenience, I compiled the various scripts into a zip file here:
 https://2ch.cx/src/1805.zip

BTW, I took a closer look at the MiniBBS v7.5 REQUIEM readme, and this
script is in fact directly derived from the script that Shiba was using
for "Ayashii World Main Keijiban" prior to quitting

There's a few bugfixes/extras by kuzuha and others, and some trivial
variable changes (like the board title, background color, etc.), but
  otherwise it's the same script

BLUEAYASHII CAN COME BACK AS AN OLDER SCRIPT

  You're a genius! ヽ(´ー`)ノ

I think there was probably a good reason why everyone transitioned to
kuzuhascript and later kuzuhascriptPHP, but the mad scientist in me
kinda want to see the carnage that may occur when a CGI script from
1997 (with a few modifications from 1999) resurfaces on today's web...

I'll try to get them running on a test server, and if any of them seem
workable I may attempt to translate the one that seems the least b0rked

I got the REBIRTH script working on my test server! ヽ(´∇`)ノ

Everything I've tested on it so far seems to work perfectly. At its
core, it's pretty much the same as what we're using now (at least in
terms of appearance and functionality), but with less miscellaneous
features and probably a lot less security (;^Д^)

The REQUIEM script on the other hand is giving me some issues. It
displays the board just fine, but I can't get posting to work - it just
    throws up an error saying:

    アクセスが混み合ってるため、書き込みできませんでした。もう一度、投稿ボタ
    ンを押してください。
(TL: Could not post due to heavy traffic. Please click the post button
    again.)

    WTF (;´Д`)

The script is mostly the same as the REBIRTH one, and I haven't done
anything different to it, so I'm not sure what the problem is. I think
I'll have to play spot the difference between the two scripts (;´Д`)

    PICS NAO ヽ(´∇`)ノ

NO THAT CAN WAIT, I'VE GOT SOMETHING BETTER

The REMIX script lets users make their own boards!!! (゚Д゚)(゚Д゚)(゚Д゚)

(I mean they're basically threads, but Ayashii World boards are liek
one big thread so... BAORDS (゚∇゚))

There's a more fleshed-out version from 2002 called "RNS Remix" which
is based on kuzuhascript, and amazingly it's actually archived:
      https://web.archive.org/web/20020118112042/http://www.rns.f2s.com/

The files in that archive were a little b0rked, but I was mostly able
to fix them (I think I did anyway...). There appears to be some
bugs - like the topic/board list not showing the most recently updated
topic/board - but I think I've got it working for the most part
