I’m unfortunately a zoomer myself, but I’ve seen way too many people
use the word in a retarded way, like instead of using “she’s prettier than you all”, they use it as “y’all’s prettier than y’all” (;´Д`)

When I see "y'all" as the first word of a post I disregard everything after that.
When I see "y'all" as the last word of a post I disregard everything that came before.
When i see "y'all" near the middle of a post-
Well, you can finish the rest...ヽ(´∇`)ノ

"yall" is a nuespeak coopted phrase that these modern freaks say because it
isn't "gendered". unless you are a southerner you shouldn't be saying it.

Wait, how is 'imagine' nuspeak? Haven't ventured into mainstream internet
for a couple of years, so maybe it just haven't reached my ears, but that
seems a bit absurd.

It isn't it is an old common expression as always but what's new is people telling other people to imagine things in a smug sarcastic or condescending way. The expression is literally just a meme at this point it comes up all the time in modern 4chan greentext and Reddit and Twitter post.

I've gathered that much, just wasn't expecting it to be so rampant that it
would be considered as a defining example of nuspeak. _ノ乙(、ン、)_

As far as I'm aware it's not nu-speak or mainstream, it's just one of
many annoying and catty 2010s era 4chan phrases commonly used in bait
posts and troll posts. It generally goes something like this:

A-san: Does anyone else here like X? I Y'd X last night and I thought it was pretty good.
B-san: [smug anime girl (3459).jpg] imagine liking X

There's also "imagine the smell", which is related to fartposting/
brapposting (a Rule 8 phenomenon)

It's a prefix to all their finest b8
Stuff like:
'Imagine wanting to control women's bodies' (Because you don't support abortion or whatever)(´ー`)

Imagine the smell is more related to other types of bodily odors
Usually like this: https://desuarchive.org/d/thread/8488346/
But when it's related to oshiri, it's more liek this:

Very nice posting that archive. I had to give myself a taste and check it out. I want to inhale sweet nectar gasses from some sweet stinky asses.

Eventually it became adopted as common 4chan parlance (as these things
always do), but it derives from brapposting and all that other Rule 8
shit that started around 2015 when 4chan completely lost its mind (;´Д`)
