the anime we tend to nominate tend to be on the slice of life side, and as i said earlier, that doesn't necessarily correlate into posts on the site. what we need is an anime that will interest us, but also has some thematical value (or any type of value that isn't purely ecchi or haha cute girls do cute things). even green green kind of worked, because it had some comedic value (those yaoi scenes really stood out) and gave us a few threads. ultimately, we need to nominate something that will have us making longposts.

Lern 2 line break LOL (´∇`)

Anyway, I disagree with ur opinion on the monthly anime choices. Only 3
of them could be described as SoL (not that this is a problem at all),
and all of the shows chosen were highly Heyuri appropriate on the whole

I can't say the same for the cytube stream selection, even if I do ulti-
mately enjoy just hanging out with everyone. FLCL is not my jam at all
(although I knew this already), and Green Green was a very "meh" exam-
ple of its genre (which I normally enjoy greatly) (;´Д`)

I personally don't care for Serious Business anime discussion featuring
boring and pointless essays and critiques about "themes" and "author's
intent" or whatever - if I wanted that then I'd go sign up to an anime
forum. I just want something entertaining for us to watch, I want our
resident underageb&s to discover the kinds of shows that got me into
anime and imageboards, and I want moar Heyuri OC ヽ(´ー`)ノ

mmm, that's just you. especially nowadays, where everybody is older, they don't necessarily want to watch the same old same old, when they've only seen anime of that genre. while it's not a bad thing to watch those types of anime, a mixture of both would be better on heyuri than simply dumb fun, in my opinion. most of the anime nominated tend to bore me out quicker than life itself.

Just me... except those shows were what the majority voted for, and
Heyuri is basically "dumb fun: the website", so I don't see the problem
(´∇`) (though like I said, we haven't just watched "dumb fun" shows!)

And the last time we did a demographic survey, it was revealed that the
majority of Heyuri's users are in their teens and early 20s. Even with-
out that, you can kinda just tell everyone is young as hell when they
miss all kinds of references they don't even realize they're missing
(;^Д^)

when i said just me, i was referring to your opinion, not the shows themselves
that being said, heyuri is not simply dumb fun: the site. while it does seem like so, heavily, (and yes, i agree that serious buisness discussion has little place on the site) heyuri has and does hold more substance than just simply being dumb fun.

with that said, i guess people do miss out on references on heyuri, however that doesn't mean they have to know the references... we've always been ones for creating, not rehashing, as said on the main page.
