Just pulled off three great little scams today.
1.At school I borrowed a guitar. When I was tuning it the thinnest
E-string suddenly broke, near the top. I figured I was screwed, since
every time you break a bit of equipment you have to pay for it, but I
loaded a bunch of leftover string into the hole where the bridge pin
goes so the string was long enough for me to loop it thru the string
post. I was able to return it to the music room without anyone noticing.
2. After leaving school I decided to get some lunch. The place I usually
go for lunch has this faggy thing where if you're taking their stuff out
you have to pay extra for ketchup. (they give you a bunch of those
little packets.) I noticed it was rush hour, and the cooks and servers
were all distracted trying to keep up. I never paid for any ketchup, but
after I got my order I said, 'Hey, what about my ketchup?' and the guy
was so distracted he gave me some without thinking about it.
3. I took the bus home, and this guy came around collecting fare. I
rarely carry cash, so I gave him my cellphone so we could do a mobile
money transfer. he keyed everything in and I made a show of completing
the process, but as soon as he left I cancelled the transaction, and
thus, I got to ride the bus for free.
