Disabling the auto-wrap would make it immediately obvious to the poster that their text is too wide. Something like: <textarea wrap="off" rows="25" cols="74" name="v" accesskey="4" maxlength="10000" placeholder="" title="Alt(+Shift)+4" id="contents1"> 'wrap' isn't a valid property in html5 but fuck that shit, every browser supports it and has done so forever.
