■I switched to the "proper" font for ayashii and it looks fucking
│horrible https://2ch.sh/src/2424.png
│
├■How does it look with Japanese characters? ちんぽミルク最高!
││
│└■It looks fine with japanese...
│
└■MS Gothic is the "proper" font, and the font in your screencap is not
│MS Gothic... but it is a Japanese monospace font, so it at least has
│the right character spacing for ayashii aa ヽ(´ー`)ノ
│
│I don't think the font you're using looks too bad, it's just inconsist-
│ent with regards to aliasing and the hinting is a little fux0red. What
│font is it, and what is your OS and browser?
│
└■MS Gothic, windows 10, firefox
│
├■There's no way that's MS Gothic! MS Gothic uses bitmaps at 20px and
││lower sizes, giving it a pixelated appearance on all characters
││
││Use Firefox's developer tools (F12) to inspect the text of a post, and
││it should show you which font is being selected in the CSS section and
││fonts section
││
│└■It is: https://2ch.sh/src/2426.png
│ │https://2ch.sh/src/2427.gif
│ │
│ └■I might have figured it out. Go to about:config, and search for:
│ │gfx.font_rendering.cleartype_params.rendering_mode
│ │
│ │Is it set to 5, or something other than -1? If so, try setting it to -1
│ │
│ │If I set it to 5 on my machine (Win10), it seems to disables bitmap
│ │fonts and MS Gothic looks exactly like your screencaps (;´Д`)
│ │
│ ├■just another one in my list of things that have gotten worse in ff
│ │
│ └■That fixed it (^Д^)
│
└■it might also be about the font size. Zoom out/in and see anything changes
│
└■No (;´Д`)(;´Д`)
